We are just starting out on my second day here in Rome. I was just blessed with a dance with the hotel owner as he sang Thats lamore .... la di da di da. A wonderful family and very loving. I love to be swong around by a man that knows how to dance. The son is adorable so I am going to see what I can do ; )
Ahhh ... I continued to feel so blessed as I get to know my little cousin more and more. I remember her when she ws a tiny little thing with a bob haircut and excitment ouzing out of her being. She is now a strong, independent, and beautiful woman with excitment ouzing out of her being.
Rome has been more than I thought it would be. I think that because of the size of the city it holds all the people in its heart without to much pulsing. After meeting up with Sarah and her sweet friend Danah we went out to eat. We shared of our journeys so far. It was so neat to hear how we experienced the same places in such unique ways.
Yesterday was spent mostly in the Vatican ... with head kinked back, jaw open, and soul swelling from the beauty of the sunday mass choir. Michealangelos work in the sistine chapel was truly beautiful. I would love to be able to just lay down in the middle and really take it in. We walked and walked and walked until a glass of cold white was absolutly needed in a hussle and bussle square. We had a wonderful little pizza and watched the purse men try and adorn the ladies that passed by. I feel in love with a huge painting that I was so tempted to buy. You would all be proud though that I remembered that by love for this year will be school. The art work will come in time eh.
We joined a brother and sister that Sarah had been on a tour with earlier for a salivating and stuffing four course meal. I was full half way through the first course of lasagna... but took one for the team and made it through the salad, meatballs and mushrooms and house cake!
After that we went to an incredibly lush church to listen to a Portland childrens choir sing gregorian chants. There were some little ones that looked like they were about seven. It was so wonderful. And to have my little Sarah sharing it with me was even more precious.
We had stopped at the Trevie foundatin earlier and it was not on. You are supposed to through a coin over your shoulder to make sure that you come back to Rome. I refused ... made at Rome that the fountain was not on as it looked like it would be brilliant. I made Sarah go back with me after the choir at night and it turns out that Rome was just playing with me, building my anticipation. Rome is playful that way and it was so very worth the wait. That is my favorite fountain yet.
Again I am left with a million little memories and thoughts that I would love to share, but I have to go collect some more to store in my heart.
Double kisses from Rome.
Wish me luck in my attempt to not purchase too many purses.

- I am doing my best to find the good things in my life and cherish them. I love deeply. I laugh hard (so hard I sometimes snort). I still dream and believe that dreams are meant to be followed. I try to depend on God. I have so much to learn. I hope.

So glad you have Sarah to share some of your adventure. It is a good thing Queen T is not there to share the purse thing. I mean "how could you carry that many". Play Safe!
Hugs XOXO
