So this is my home for the next little while. Me and my classmate and good friend Natalie are in the master suite of an old Victorian home near Bloor and Sherbourne. It is a great location for us as we can both walk to our placements and Lisa is just a 10 minute walk away!
The decor is ... well entertaining. The landlord is a 74 year old Asian woman named Shirley. Shirley, no matter how many times we have tried to clear things up with her, thinks that we are brilliant doctors. She has tried to set up Natalie with a 40 year old man in Hong Kong and assured her that he would fly her over there! There are lamps without lampshades everywhere and the light switches are taped off. The theories on that range from her not wanting to change the bulbs in the 11 foot rooms, or that she thinks this will save electricity. Needless to say there are cords everywhere. There is even a lamp on the end of the banister in the main hall and in the bathrooms. For the purpose of protecting the original floor I can only imagine, she has layered and layered underlay and rugs throughout the 4 floors. And not only does she protect the floors, but the carpets as well by turning them upside down!
It has been fun for me to try and figure out the method behind the madness. Oh yeah, she also puts stickers up over holes in the wall ... and the ones above my bead are upside down smiley-faces. The divider that she put up for us is a bed frame wedged between a chair and Natalie's desk ... don't want to be leaning on that!
It is working out well though. Living with Natalie has been a lot of laughs and it is great to have someone to talk child life with at the end of the day. Ohhh beautiful ... it just started to snow.

Sounds like quite an interesting adventure. Great photos.
Maybe she needs all the lamps to see better???? As for the Carpet thing....maybe that is the only thing keeping you from falling through holes in the floor.....Smiley face stickers upsidedown....may be a fungshua (sp) thing...You crack me up. Love and big hugs K8
